Azerbaijan has declared the Second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and the Third President Serzh Sargsyan wanted, Azerbaijani media reported, citing the Head of the Special Investigation Department of the Republican Military Prosecutor’s Office, Senior Justice Adviser Emil Tagiyev.
According to him, since February 1988, the former presidents of Armenia have convened meetings to incite national enmity and hatred between the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples.
Earlier, Azeri media, citing Azerbaijani official sources, published information that the Azerbaijani authorities were prosecuting Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan and declaring him internationally wanted.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia stated that “measures have been taken to prevent attempted illegal searches through the Interpol General Secretariat, in case of receiving inquiries in case of receiving declarations of search, not to include the information on the wanted persons in the relevant files of Interpol.” As noted by the agency, first of all, the fact was taken into account that according to Article 3 of the Constitution of the ICPO-INTERPOL, “It is strictly forbidden for the Organization to undertake any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character.”
After the 44-day Karabakh war, Arayik Harutyunyan reportedly went abroad several times, particularly to the Russian Federation.
