The CIS countries will discuss the issue of obtaining observer status in the CSTO

The CIS countries are considering obtaining the status of observer of cooperation in the CSTO. Leonid Anfimov, First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, stated this today, 15 February, in Minsk, RIA Novosti reports.

The issue of providing the CIS the status of an observer in the CSTO as an international organization will be discussed at the closed session of the Council of Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representatives. The members of the Council will discuss this issue today and will make a decision. Anfimov told reporters before the sitting of the Council of Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member states under other statutory cooperation bodies.
