President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting of the operative headquarters in Alma Ata that the withdrawal of the CSTO peacekeeping force is scheduled to start on Thursday, RIA Novosti reported.
“The organized withdrawal of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent starts tomorrow. I have had negotiations with the leaders of the respective states. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the command of the military group for the work done during these few days,” he said.
It should be reminded that the RA Armed Forces sent a peacekeeping unit (100 servicemen) to the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the CSTO peacekeeping forces.
During the mission, the peacekeeping unit of the RA Armed Forces carries out functions of protection of exclusively strategic buildings and infrastructures.
