The first case of infection with the “omicron” strain of coronavirus has been registered in the USA. A statement issued by the US Federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), TASS reports.
The first case was registered in the state of California. The infected person returned to the US from visit to South Africa on 22 November.
The CDC stressed that the patient with “Omicron” strain was vaccinated against coronavirus. He has mild symptoms of the disease. Earlier, US President Joe Biden expressed confidence that “sooner or later” the “Omicron” strain of the coronavirus will appear in the United States.
