The role of Russian diplomacy in the settlement of disputes between Azerbaijan and Armenia is growing. Putin

The recent shootings on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have shown that the situation in the region has not calmed down yet, and the role of Russian diplomacy for further settlement is growing, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, RIA Novosti reported.

He reminded that a year ago, due to Russia’s active mediation efforts, the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh was stopped.

“However, the recent shootings on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have shown that the situation in this region has not calmed down yet. The efforts of the Russian peacekeeping force to ensure stability are in great demand as a guarantee of a ceasefire and the security of the civilian population,” Putin said, speaking at Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“Undoubtedly, the role of Russian diplomacy in the continuation of efforts to resolve the dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia is growing,” he said.
