On 16 November, Armenian Ambassador to the United States Lilit Makunts had a telephone conversation with Amanda Sloat, Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council.

The ambassador presented the situation created in the Armenian sovereign territory due to the Azerbaijani aggression, the official Armenian position and reaction to them.

Ambassador Makunts stressed the need for targeted calls from the international community to prevent further escalation of the situation.”
