On 2 November, a telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan D.A. Bayramov. The heads of the foreign affairs agencies discussed topical issues of bilateral relations, regional and international agendas.

An exchange of views took place on the implementation of the agreements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia of 9 November, 2020 and 11 January, 2021, taking into account the approaching anniversary of the adoption of the trilateral Statement on a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
A “synchronization of clocks” was carried out on the issues of relieving tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, unblocking all transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus, creating a favorable atmosphere for regional cooperation. Sergey Lavrov stressed the importance of continuing efforts aimed at political and diplomatic settlement of the entire range of issues in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The ministers noted with satisfaction the ongoing development of the multifaceted Russian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership.
