On 23 September, Azerbaijan appealed to the UN International Court of Justice against Armenia for violations of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The International Court of Justice informed in a press release.
It should be reminded that earlier, on 16 September, Armenia applied to the UN International Court of Justice, presenting facts on racial discrimination by Azerbaijan.
The lawsuit filed by the Armenian side states that “Azerbaijan has racially discriminated against Armenia for decades,” which has resulted in mass killings, torture and other violations. At the same time, Armenia requested the court to indicate certain provisional measures “as a matter of extreme urgency including the closure of the trophy park, the return of prisoners of war and detained civilians.”
