The Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Karen Andreasyan said in a briefing with journalists about initiating disciplinary proceedings against judges and subjecting them to disciplinary liability, that they are legal, fair and it is a legal way for cleansing and filtering the judicial system.
“I think that disciplinary proceedings are even less; the fair remedies obtained through disciplinary proceedings against unscrupulous judges have been even less. Thanks to Mr. Badasyan, this cleansing has begun. And I want to inform that tomorrow I will meet with the most influential representatives of non-governmental organizations involved in the field of judicial reform. “Currently we are conducting discussion to obtain the fairest and best model to expel bad judges from the system, and everyone says that the judiciary needs to be filtered,” the minister said.
Referring to his statement that freedom of speech is not an absolute value, he said.
“When I said that there could be a terrorist under the name of a journalist, it did not mean that there are terrorists among journalists, I do not see a single terrorist among journalists today. I talked about security issues. In the event of a security threat or similar information, any movement may be restricted.”
