An extraordinary session of the National Assembly was convened on 30 July. The meeting also discussed the drafts on amendment to the Law “On State Border” and the supplement  to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

The agenda of the special session includes the draft amendments to the Law on the State Border, as well as the controversial draft amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code.

The draft states that at present the use of video cameras and drones in the border areas of the RA state border is not regulated by law. It is noted that their use may have a negative impact on border protection, so it is recommended to apply restrictions.

Administrative measures will be applied to those who have violated the rules of entering or staying at the border, as well as the rules of residence or registration.
