On June 2, 2021, at 10:58 am, an alarm was received that a murder had taken place in front of the “Moscow” cinema on Abovyan Street in Yerevan. The investigative-operative group immediately went to the scene and found the body of a man with a gunshot wound to the head in front of 7 Abovyan Street in Yerevan.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Kentron-Nork-Marash administrative district investigation department of the Yerevan city investigation department of the RA Investigation Committee on the fact of murder, illegal acquisition, possession and carrying of a weapon.

As a result of urgent measures taken by the RA Police, the identity of the person who received a fatal gunshot wound was revealed: he is a resident of Gavar, born in 1971,

Necessary investigative and judicial actions were carried out, including the inspection of the scene, during which a shotgun shell was found, confiscated, samples were taken, a number of eyewitnesses were interrogated, a forensic ballistic examination,  forensic and forensic genetic examinations of the corpse was appointed to find out the essential circumstances of the criminal case.

The investigation is underway.

Measures are taken to find out all the circumstances of the case, the identity of the person who committed the crime, to present it to the body conducting the proceedings.

Assignments were given to the investigative body.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
