CSTO commented on the incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border
The sgtatement in particular mentions:
“Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the Collective Security Treaty Organization Victor Biagov informed the CSTO Permanent Council on 13 May about the incident that took place on 12 May at the state border of the Republic of Armenia with the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the Armenian side, the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the border and advanced a few kilometers to the Armenian territory.
The press service of the organization also noted that CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas discussed the current situation by telephone with the acting Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan and the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan.
“The CSTO is closely following the development of the situation in the border regions of the Syunik region of Armenia. As the situation develops, if necessary, actions will be taken, provided for by the provisions of the Collective Security Treaty and the CSTO Charter,” the organization’s press release reads.
