After the resignation, Nikol Pashinyan will be the Acting Prime Minister: Arman Yeghoyan

Arman Yeghoyan, a member of the “My Step” faction of the National Assembly, referring to the issue that Russia, an ally of the Republic of Armenia, voted against including the issue of Armenian prisoners of war in the agenda of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said, “I have not seen any official comment in this regard yet, the questions related to the technical details of the voting should be addressed to the members of our delegation when they return to Yerevan. The important thing is that the issue is included in the agenda, that the issue will be discussed,” the MP said.

According to him, Russia is involved in the international arena as a party to the trilateral statement on the return of Armenian prisoners of war to Armenia, and the PACE is involved in the issue to the extent that the issue of the return of prisoners is an imperative norm of international humanitarian law.

“We try not to politicize the issue of prisoners, we have always said that this issue should be resolved by international humanitarian norms, but since we see attempts by Azerbaijan to politicize this issue, then political pressure should be put on them, which is already being done, so that the issue can be resolved through political pressure,” Arman Yeghoyan said.

Referring to the early parliamentary elections, the MP said that it is not clear yet on which day Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will resign.

“Whether the bloc or a party, this issue is being discussed again at the moment, there is no final conclusion yet, after the resignation, Nikol Pashinyan will be the acting prime minister,” the MP said.
