“In fact, we have divided the new amendments to the Electoral Code into two parts, one of which refers only to the proportional electoral system. We have already adopted it during the plenary sittings of the National Assembly, which has already been submitted to the President. We will see what will happen in the near future,” Lilit Makunts, MP, leader of the “My Step” faction, said this today, on 5 April, at a briefing with journalists.

She noted that at the moment they are consulting with specialized international organizations. “As for the second package, when we have the official observation of the Venice Commission, then we will discuss what rates will be adopted for the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections, and which will be postponed, we will already decide in the parliament,” Makunts said.

According to the MP, they will not touch upon the composition of the electoral lists before May, it is not ruled out that new names will appear. She also mentioned that their rating is high.

Lilit Makunts, referring to the views voiced by various representatives of her political team that it is possible to become friends with Turkey, said: “No one has commented on friendship with Turkey, no such word, no such approach has been voiced,” she said.
