On 31 March, President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree appointing Andranik Simonyan to the position of the Deputy Director of National Security Service.
“Based on the Prime Minister’s proposal, in accordance with Article 133, Part 1 of the Constitution, as well as Article 18, Part 2 of the Law on Service in National Security Bodies,
To appoint Andranik SIMONYAN the Deputy Director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia.”
As we have already informed, Andranik Simonyan was relieved of the post of Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today, on 31 March, where he managed to hold office for 5 days.
Notably, Andranik Simonyan was appointed to this position by the 26 March decree of the Prime Minister.
His biography was not even posted on the official website of the Investigative Committee.
In the same way, Argishti Kyaramyan, now the deputy chairman of the Investigative Committee was appointed director of the NSS. On 4 May, 2020, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee, the next day, on 5 May, according to the President’s decree, he was appointed Deputy Director of the NSS. On 8 June, he was appointed director of the National Security Service. After being relieved of this post, on 24 December, by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, he was again appointed deputy chairman of the Investigative Committee.
