Misinformation is spread in various media that the Ministry of Defense has reduced the salaries of the employees. The news does not correspond to the reality. The Ministry of Defense reported.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia informs that according to Article 27, Part 1 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On Remuneration of State Positions”, the salaries of the system staff will be made in due time, for each month until the seventh working day of the following month (monthly salaries for January will be paid by 7 February).

“At the same time, it is informed that an advance payment was provided in January to alleviate the social burden of the staff, and the allocations envisaged by the RA state budget for 2021 to the Ministry of Defense will be implemented in full within the set terms. In other words, the money transferred to the employees is not a “reduced” salary, but only an advance payment of the salary and the rest of the salary will be transferred within the terms defined by law,” the statement reads.
