The information about the blockade of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno Karabakh does not correspond to reality. The Russian Defense Ministry told reporters.
“RIA Novosti” news agency reported.
“The information about the alleged blockade of the Russian peacekeeping forces by one of the parties to the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh does not correspond to reality. All units of the Russian peacekeeping force in Nagorno-Karabakh carry out their tasks on a regular basis, both at checkpoints and during the observance of the ceasefire regime,” the ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense stressed that the headquarters of the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation is constantly cooperating with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan through direct communication, including to prevent possible incidents.
The ministry reminded that the peacekeepers are operating in Nagorno Karabakh in accordance with the statement signed between the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, and the Prime Minister of Armenia.
The ceasefire is maintained along the entire line of contact,” the ministry added.
