The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova spoke about Nagorno Karabakh. The Russian diplomat particularly referred to the anti-Armenian statements of Aliyev and Erdogan during the military parade in the Azerbaijani capital.
“The situation in the region is complicated. Many efforts have been made to establish peace, end hostilities, bring the parties to the negotiating table, start the difficult process of returning refugees, rebuilding infrastructure, creating conditions and preconditions for normal life in all areas. The work is very difficult. We assume that political statements should contribute to these processes. A lot of energy and a lot of force was invested in that process, and, let’s remember that a lot of lives were given for all that. No political statement should erase all that,” Maria Zakharova said.
It should be reminded that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his speech at the military parade in Baku today advised Armenia to “come to its senses” and Aliyev stated that Yerevan, Zangezur and Sevan are Azerbaijani lands.
