UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres calls on Yerevan and Baku to resume negotiations under the auspices of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to achieve sustainable peace. Stéphane Dujarric his spokesman announced to reporters on Friday.

“The UN Secretary General calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to resume negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in order to achieve a sustainable settlement,” said the representative of the world organization.” He also calls on the governments and peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan to embark on the path of dialogue leading to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
“The Secretary General emphasizes that the UN is ready to meet humanitarian needs in all regions affected by the conflict and, if requested, to increase assistance to Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Dujarric said. “He calls on all parties influencing the situation to fully cooperate with UN representatives in order to provide them with unhindered access,” added the representative of the Secretary General.
Guterres welcomed the 9 November Russian-mediated ceasefire statement and called on “all parties to continue to comply with its provisions, as well as their international obligations, especially in the area of international humanitarian law and human rights.”
