The placement of only the Armenian flag in the talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Armen Sarkissian in Yerevan is explained by the country’s protocol practice, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel reported.
“Flags are very important. The content of the negotiations is even more important. It is also important to know the history of the meetings and their design. Each country has its own protocol practice. “The attentive person will notice that there is only one flag when it comes to the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic of Armenia,” the ministry said in a statement.
At the same time, Lavrov’s meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan on Saturday was accompanied by the flags of the two countries, according to a photo posted earlier on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel.
According to the protocol, the flags of the two countries are placed during the meeting of the persons in the same position.
