In order to control the observance of the ceasefire regime in Nagorno Karabakh, the Russian peacekeepers have deployed 18 observation points in the Southern and Northern areas of responsibility. As reported by Armenpress, a statement issued by the RF Ministry of Defense states that the transport of personnel, armaments, military and special equipment to Armenia by military transport planes continues, as well as the operative deployment of the main forces of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Nagorno Karabakh.
“Since 10 November, 2020, a total of 118 flights have been carried out, including 23 flights during the last day. Since 10 November, 7 observation points have been located in the Lachin corridor (Aghavno, Lisagor, along the Zarisli road section). On 14 November, the units of the 15th separate Motor Rifle Brigade completed the deployment of checkpoints in the “North” area of responsibility.
At present, control over the observance of the ceasefire regime is carried out in 9 observation posts in the Southern Responsibility Zone, and in 9 observation posts in the Northern Responsibility Zone,” the statement reads.
The RF Ministry of Defense informs that the Russian peacekeeping forces are controlled from the command post located in Stepanakert. The ceasefire regime is maintained along the entire line of contact.
“According to the agreements reached, the exchange of the bodies of the victims continues in Nagorno Karabakh. It is organized by the Peacekeeping Forces of the Russian Federation and the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as the State Emergency Service of the Artsakh Republic.
“Continued cooperation with the General Staffs of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia is carried out through direct communication to prevent possible incidents and to ensure the safety of Russian servicemen,” the statement reads.
By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 10 November, 2020, the deployment of Russian peacekeepers continues in Nagorno Karabakh. The base of the military is the 15th separate Motor Rifle Brigade of the Central Military District. The commander of the peacekeepers is Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.
