Russia is a member of the Minsk Group, a mediating country, and here Russia’s functions are in no way interconnected with the authorities that exist that day. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan stated this on the First Channel.

“Russia, as an ally of Armenia, within its capabilities, I assure you, has done the maximum it could afford within this framework. We do not raise any issue regarding Russia’s allied relations, because as our ally, as a member of the Minsk Group, Russia has done what it ought to do. However, the support that Turkey has provided to Azerbaijan, the amount of military equipment that has accumulated in Azerbaijan, especially in the last two months, has been beyond the scope of our military figures. In other words, the attack was not predictable,”Avinyan said.
