The settlement of the regional issue should include the final solution of the issue related to the Genocide: Victor Yengibaryan

The deputy of the NA “My Step” faction Victor Yengibaryan writes:

“Since Turkey’s direct participation in the current war, even its provocation, organization, as well as its rejection of all attempts at a ceasefire, is obvious, the further solution must be of a broad regional nature, which must include:

  • The final settlement of the Genocide issue,
  • The recognition of Artsakh,
  • The settlement of the blockade of Armenia by Turkey and Azerbaijan,
  • The formation of new communication networks in the region, such as the construction of the Armenia-Black Sea or Armenia-Russia road (highway) on an extraterritorial basis, which will exclude changes in the current alignment of neighboring countries in the region and, taking into account Turkey’s geopolitical interests in the region, will allow compromises to exclude further military expansion.

The change of the subject of the conflict inevitably implies a re-conceptualization of the subject of the conflict and, therefore, a review of the principles, definitions and compromise approaches put on the negotiating table. It is time to redefine the conflict and put new alternatives on the table.

Of course, before that it is necessary to win the war. Our fight is not just for land, in case of regional changes the geopolitical, economic and security environment around Armenia and Artsakh can change drastically (certainly with a win-win outcome) in the long run, the start of those changes must be given.

“Our brothers are doing a great job; the victorious outcome of that work will make Armenia a highly developed, prosperous and secure country.”
