Turkey is arming Azerbaijan without heeding the calls of international players. As “Armenpress” reports this was stated by the US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo during a telephone briefing on 14 October, answering the journalist’s question referring to what steps the Trump administration is taking in connection with the events in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone.

“I spoke to President Trump about it this morning. We are following to what is happening there. We have joined our European partners in many countries around the world in saying that a ceasefire should be the beginning of the solution. We also follow up the reports on civilian casualties. We are watching Turkey, which is arming Azerbaijan, ignoring the calls of all international players not to escalate this mess and leave the region. We use our diplomatic tools to reach a ceasefire based on international law. We pay a lot of attention to it. I think our efforts so far will allow that to happen,” Pompeo said.
