Vahram Avetisyan, the Government Candidate for the Judge of Constitutional Court, presented his Vision

At the 23 July sitting of the Government, the executive introduced the candidate for the position of a judge of the Constitutional Court, Vahram Avetisyan.

Eduard Aghajanyan, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, presented the issue to the members of the executive.

The Prime Minister asked the candidate to introduce himself and present his ideas about possible activities in the Constitutional Court.

“As a candidate for a judge of the Constitutional Court, my approaches, if that opportunity is given by the National Assembly, I imagine to ensure the independence, depoliticization and impartiality of a judge of the Constitutional Court. Also, taking into account the realities in our country, he should ensure the role of the Constitutional Court in the strengthening and development of democracy. We know that democracy and democratic values are not rigid stable categories, along with the development of society, the approaches to democracy and democratic values are also evolving, and I also assume that the Constitutional Court, based on the fundamental rights and freedoms of the individual, must act in parallel with that logic, to ensure the harmonious action of the legislative, executive and judicial authorities, the effective process of determining the constitutionality of normative acts.” Vahram Avetisyan said.

He also presented his work activity.
