About 1 Million AMD is spent for One Patient in Resuscitation: Minister

About one million drams are spent for one patient with coronavirus in resuscitation. The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this today, on 7 July, during a press conference.

He noted that in the fight against coronavirus, both the ministry and the entire state apparatus have incurred expenses related to hospitals, which have also been covered by reserve funds and existing programs.

How much does it cost to treat one patient? “There is no answer to this question, because patients are treated in different medical institutions, with different staff and with different equipment. These medical facilities are funded mainly by maintenance costs, depending on the number of hospital beds, and the approximate average cost per patient at this medical facility and that of another patient. However, there are also approved prices by us, which we pay to the medical centers, which are not entirely engaged in coronavirus disease, but have coronavirus departments. If I’m not mistaken, for one resuscitation patient, the average hospitalization is 1 million drams,” the minister said.

Arsen Torosyan added that those are not secret numbers and will be published in the near future.
