Academic debate continues around the world over whether cases of coronavirus recurrence have been reported. The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this today, on 7 July, during a press conference.

“In any case, we do not have such a registered case. I think the protocols should not be viewed on a national scale, but should be viewed in the context of international research. In general, the fact of double infection is conditioned by the longevity of immunity, and as long as we do not have the answer to this question, we do not have the answer to the question of the possibility of double infection,” the minister said.

He also said that even if a person has been infected and recovered, there is still no 100% guarantee that he will not be infected a second time, and caution should be exercised. Torosyan also mentioned that in any case it should be taken into account that acute respiratory infections, especially seasonal ones, do not cause long-term immunity.
