Today, on 16 June, Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan presented in the National Assembly the petitions on giving consent to initiate criminal prosecution against Gagik Kolya Tsarukyan, NA Deputy, and on giving consent to deprive RA National Assembly Deputy Gagik Kolya Tsarukyan of his liberty.
Arman Abovyan, a member of the “Prosperous Armenia” parliamentary group, asked Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan whether he had been frightened or threatened. “Is this really your voluntary choice to take part in the circus?” the deputy said.
The prosecutor answered, “If you thought that intimidation might have affected, you might have tried to intimidate, Mr. Abovyan, something might have come out. So, no one can scare me, the RA Constitution and laws have given the Prosecutor General so much tools, so much power and responsibility that sometimes he doesn’t look directly at who he is persecuting, and it will always be so.”
