The World Health Organization is guided by health standards, but Armenia, like many other countries, has economic, security, financial, and social needs. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this today, on 29 May, during a briefing after the Commandant’s Office session, referring to the observation that the WHO has set 6 criteria, which should be followed in the countries that eliminate quarantine, among them the spread of infection should be manageable. The country’s healthcare system must have the capacity to test, isolate, and treat each case, whether Armenia meets WHO standards, and how much worse the situation must be to make a decision to move to a more quarantine regime.
“Many countries today are repealing the quarantine regime by not meeting those standards. As for how bad the situation should be, it depends on all of us. I hope that our joint public behavior will change so much that we simply will not have to go back to a strict quarantine system. In fact, it is a development that none of us wants. “
