In an interview with Palitranews, Paata Imnadze, Deputy Director of the Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, said that the second strong wave of coronavirus is expected in late autumn, and the infection will intensify in the winter.

According to Imnadze, the number of cases may increase with the lifting of the ban.
“People think the coronavirus is gone, but it will be with us for at least a year. We are waiting for the second strong wave at the end of autumn, the probability of this is high, and in winter the infection will be much more active. We must learn to live with the coronavirus. Social distance, avoiding large gatherings, hand hygiene and mask – this is the way to live with the coronavirus. If we maintain this order, the infection will not be very active in the summer,” Imnadze said.
