Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan started his press conference by presenting 100 facts.
“In 2019, the cases of illegal logging and poaching in Armenia have obviously decreased, as a result of which the entry of people and equipment into forests has become rarer. As a result, the availability of fodder for animals increased. The appearance of a Caucasian leopard in the area of Yenokavan village can be a result of the list of positive factors listed above and the restoring the feed chain.
Thus, we can state that after a 50-year break, the leopard returned to Tavush region. The animal was last seen in the area in the 1970s. Tavush became the fourth region in Armenia where a leopard lives,” the Prime Minister said.
