The Housing Problem of 229 Families in the Settlements of the Disaster Zone will be solved: The Government made the Decision

On 7 May, the government adopted a decision to fix the measures to be taken by the state-sponsored housing program (hereinafter referred to as the “Program”) to support the housing problems of families left homeless due to the earthquake in the disaster zone.

Within the framework of the program, out of 5406 families recognized as beneficiaries in Shirak, Lori and Aragatsotn marzes (including those who have resumed the right to improve their housing conditions) at the expense of about 65 billion drams in 2008-2017, 4838 families’ housing problems have been solved.

At the expense of 560.0 million drams allocated from the 2018 budget, the housing problem of 44 families of rural settlements of Lori region of the Republic of Armenia has been solved by the construction of residential houses, and at the expense of the saved funds the housing problem of 7 families is under construction.

At the expense of 560.0 million drams envisaged by the 2019 budget, the housing problem of 61 families is being resolved.

As a result, by the end of 2019, about 460 families (227 + 229 = 456) still needed housing solutions.
