Inspections in the Capital and Regions: Persons who violated the Established Order were fined

We have already informed that the Commandant’s decision on restrictions on free movement of persons is valid throughout the Republic of Armenia in order to prevent the possible spread of the new coronavirus. Citizens are required to have a note containing the information set forth in the Appendix to the Commandant’s Decision and a personal identification document, the absence of which gives rise to legal liability.

On 25 March, officers of different units of the RA Police carried out inspections in the streets. A number of citizens were found who did not have the above letter. Protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up against them. Persons who did not have an ID document were presented to the territorial subdivisions where their identity was verified and protocols were drawn up.

By 19:00, protocols on administrative offenses were compiled against 78 persons, 40 in the capital and 38 in the regions. 659 drivers transported more passengers than allowed by private vehicles, which were asked to get off the cars. A record of administrative misconduct was also compiled against 6 regular passenger carriers who transported more than a specified number of passengers.

It should be reminded that violations of the rules of isolation or self-isolation or other restrictions on the right to free movement during the state of emergency declared, results in the imposition of a penalty in the amount of 100 to 250 thousand AMD. We once again urge the population to strictly restrict leaving the apartments and leave only in case of extreme urgency, while respecting the requirements set out in the Commandant’s decision.
