Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia about coronavirus

According to Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, there is no reason to panic over Georgia’s coronavirus, Aliq.ge reports.

According to Prime Minister Gakharia at today’s cabinet meeting, the situation is controlled by the relevant agencies.

“As you know, yesterday the first case of coronavirus was registered in the country. First of all, I would like to stress that we have no cause for panic. The Ministry of Health, the relevant departments and the interdepartmental coordinating council are in full control of the situation,” Gakharia said.

The Prime Minister urged to follow the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

“As a result of the effective work of our departments, the first case of the infection has been detected right at the border, so the infected person has not had contact with our citizens. It was the first time that such a case has been reported at the border, for which we have to thank every employee of the health system, as well as border guards and customs officers,” Giorgi Gakharia said.
