Court leaves to the Counseling Room to rule on Motion for Manvel Grigoryan’s Measure of Restraint

On January 15, an extraordinary session on the initiative of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, to discuss the issue of the measure of restraint of the former MP Manvel Grigoryan, is convened at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan.

The trial is presided over by Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan.

According to medical expert Gagik Harutyunyan, who took part in the examination and acme to the court today, Manvel Grigoyan’s health was undesirably worsened, which could lead to unpredictable consequences. “Blood pressure figures are life threatening,” he said.

The prosecutor petitioned to review the measure of restraint.

The court went to the consultation room to rule on the motion filed by the prosecution.

It will be published today at 20:30.

Manvel Grigoryan was transferred to the intensive care unit yesterday.

Notably: Manvel Grigoryan is accused of committing a crime under Article 235 (2) of the RA Criminal Code (“Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices by a group of persons”).

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
