On 7 January 2013, the National Security Service detained two suspects in Paruyr Hayrikyan’s assassination attempt. The suspects, Khachatur Poghosyan, born in 1966, without any definite employment and formerly accused for illegal drug turnover and Samvel Harutyunyan, born in 1972. They reside in Yerevan illegally.
According to information from the Press Center of the RA NSS the suspects pled guilty.
An investigation of the accused motives is in process.
