Council of the Elders discussed and voted to approve Yerevan 2020 budget. According to the decision, the total amount of budget revenues is planned at 107,146,776.0 in the amount of AMD instead the 83,077,572.1 initially approved for the budget in 2019. The planned revenue exceeds 2018 actual revenues collected totaled 38,478,717.0 thousand in AMD or 56.0%. In the total volume of planned revenues, own revenues amount to 27,020,249.6 thousand AMD,  by 3,079,373.9 thousand more than planned in in 2019 and by 5,615,152.8 thousand from actual performance of own revenues in 2018 or about 26.23% more.

2020 expenditures by the draft budget are planned to be 116,259,587.5 thousand, 90.3% or 104,969,085.3 thousand.\ if the whole volume falls to current expenditures (administrative budget), and deficit is planned at 9,112,811.5 thousand drams.

Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Sargsyan, presenting the draft decision, noted that the budget of Yerevan for 2019-2023 was taken into account when drafting the budget, namely, priorities and opportunities provided by the five-year program; the priorities of the 20120 program, the main directions of the program implemented during 2019 and effectiveness of their implementation. The principle of proportionate and sustainable development is at the core of the implementation of the programs for Yerevan in 2020 and will be aimed at ensuring the sustainability of creating a renovated, comfortable and accessible environment, modernization of urban infrastructure, and provision of vital interests of the population as well.
