During the discussion of the Draft 2020 Budget, NA MP Sergey Bagratyan today asked the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan:

“We will increase defense and security spending by 0.8 percent in the 2020 budget. It is understandable that there are many points under the confidentiality principle and there is no need to voice them, but we see this figure publicly, and I think it is not enough to serve the risks we see today. If we had a surplus of 333 billion drams, which we provided to the Central Bank, wouldn’t it be worth investing that money in the development of the military industry?” the MP noted.

Andranik Kocharyan replied that it would be great, but the numbers in the military industry are very substantial for our present-day existence and they will become more substantial year by year.
