Today, on 24 January, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak Region considered the criminal case brought against the RA citizen Aghasi Barcic, an Abkhaz by nationality. During different months of 2012 the accused committed overt theft of mobile phones of the 8 servicemen of Russian military unit situated in Gyumri. He started a conversation with them, and under the pretext of calling thieved their mobile phones, causing the large amount of pecuniary damage.

During the court session the defendant motioned to apply the procedure for speedy trial. The court explained the consequences of application of speedy trial prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code. The prosecutor presented the final part of the indictment and the accused accepted his guilt. The Court satisfied the motion, which necessitated the clarification of the aggrieved persons’ position on the motion.

The court session was delayed until 6 of February, at 12:00.
