Nairi Hunanyan sentenced to Life Imprisonment on the 27 October Case has submitted a Request for Release on Parol

Nairi Hunanyan, the head of the terrorist group sentenced to life in prison on 27 October cases has submitted a request for release on parol.

In the interview to Iravabam.net Nona Navikyan, the Head of the Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service of the RA Ministry of Justice said that the application was submitted on 11 September.

According to her, the application will be considered within 80 days.

Notably, he has been in prison for 20 years.

It should be reminded that on 27 October, 1999, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia was attacked during the question and answer session with the Government. RA NA Speaker Karen Demirchyan, Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, Vice Speakers of the National Assembly Ruben Miroyan and Yuri Bakhshyan, Minister of Operations Affairs Leonard Petrosyan, MPs Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Michael Kotanyan were killed, 8 people were injured and 91 were captured.

The Judgment on 27 October case was announced on 2 December, 2003. According to the court ruling, 6 people, including Nairi Hunasian, were sentenced to life imprisonment and one person to 14 years in prison.
