The Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan is considering the criminal case brought against Samvel M. While being in service in Police as a Senior Investigator of Investigatory Department, the accused accepted the suggestion of an acceptance of a bribe for not implementation of actions within his authority in favor of the briber or briber’s representative.

According to Point 3, Part 3 Article 311 of the RA Criminal Code Taking bribes by a state official, personally or through a proxy, in the form of money, property right, securities or other property benefits, for implementation or not implementation of actions within his authority, in favor of the briber or briber’s representative, by using official position, to commit or not to commit such actions for permission, service favoring or connivance, which is committed in large amount, is punished is punished with imprisonment for the term of 4 to 10 years, with or without property confiscation.

Note: Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty by the court verdict lawfully entered into force as prescribed by Criminal Procedure Code.
