Undermined the work of Police officers

The Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts is considering a criminal case brought against Armen Kh. charged with hooliganism. On 25 October 2012, at 16:45 p.m. in the reception room of the administrative building of the RA Police (Address: 130 Nalbandyan Street) the accused had a conflict on the organization of a meeting with the Head of the Police. During the quarrel with the Councilor to the Head of the Police Meruzhan H. he brutally violated the public order, made a noise and cursed, struck Merujzhan H. with hands, causing him bodily injury without a minor damage, and undermined the normal work of the police officers for about 20 minutes.

 

 

The accused is detained in custody as a measure of restraint.

 

According to Article 258 of the RA Criminal Code Hooliganism is brutal violation of public order which is manifested in express disrespect and accompanied with violence in relation to citizens or a threat to use it. Brutal breach of public order combined with the destruction or damage of somebody’s property, is punished with a fine in the amount of 100 to 300 minimal salaries, or with arrest for the term of 1-3 months, or with imprisonment for the term of up to 2 years.

 

Note: Everyone charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty by the court verdict lawfully entered into force as prescribed by Criminal Procedure Code.
