“My Step” faction of Yerevan Council of Elders has issued a statement. “Today, a number of media outlets have published a material published in the Zhamanak newspaper # 2 (3711) that on 8 December, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the representatives of “My Step” Faction of the Yerevan City Council of Elders’ allegedly reproving the members of the Council of Elders and the Mayor’s Office, and blamed his party members for failing the urban economy.”

The “My Step” Faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders denies this information, stating that the presented information has nothing to do with the reality.

We confirm that on 8 January, the first such intra-team meeting was held after the Yerevan City Council elections, during which the exchange of ideas on the role of council of elders, legislative reforms, public work and overall vision of the team took place.

We urge “Zhamanak” daily to adequately publish this denial, the same time we apply to other media that reposted the misinformation to do the same.

We call upon the public to apply to the leadership of the faction or the secretariat for credibility the information prior to disseminating unofficial information about the Faction and to abstain from disseminating of misinformation.
