On the evening of May 11th through the morning of the 12th along the north eastern state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Azeris continued to use weapons and artillery of different calibers in the direction of the Armenian position-holders.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the RA Armed Forces are continuing to confidentially control the situation along the border and take defensive actions only in the cases where the enemy intentionally violates the cease-fire agreement.
According to operative information from NKR, on the night On 11 May at 19:30, the enemy started began shooting from weapons of different calibers as well as from mortars and grenade launchers, thus violating the ceasefire agreement between the confronting sides. Shooting continued during the whole night.
On 11 May at around 20:00, Armen Martirosyan (born in 1996) soldier of the one of the military units of Defense Army was deadly wounded. An investigation is underway to find out the details. The NKR Defense Ministry shares the grief of the loss and expresses its support to the family, relatives and friends of the fallen soldier.
It is noteworthy that the incident took place just hours later on the same day after the OSCE Mission held monitoring of the NKR Martakert region, which proves that Azerbaijan ignores the mediation efforts to resolve Karabakh conflict, and once again show the need for speedy implementation of mechanisms for investigating the incidents.
