In the Court of First Instance of Avan and Nor Nork Communities of Yerevan, the case of severe murder done on October 24, 2013 is still under investigation. A 42 years old woman was killed in her apartment as a result of 17 knife hits.
24 years old Robert Hovhannisyan is at the dock. According to the indictment, that day he was at Anna Stepanyan’s apartment and had a quarrel. During the quarrel, he hit her with knife causing heavy damage to her health after which she died. Then he took 80000 AMD and 5 pieces of jewelry from the apartment and run away.
The case was sent to the court on November 11, last year and the trial is still in the process. Judge ArmenVardapetyan investigates the case. The defendant is arrested and is in the “Nubarashen” Penitentiary.
Robert is charged with Article 104, Part 2, Clause 8 of the RA Criminal Code, the murder case out of mercenary motives and combined with extortion and banditry. If his guilt is proved, he would face 12-20 years or life imprisonment.
