This is already the second day that everywhere is announced that the RA citizen Vahan Martirosyan had applied for political asylum to Azerbaijan, saying that he had been subjected to political pressure in Armenia. Earlier, Vahan Martirosyan and his wife had stated that were beaten by the security guards of the MP Mher Sedrakyan.
On 21 August, Ms Ruzanna Marguni, scientific worker at the RA National Academy of Sciences applied to the Police department informing about the theft of about 3820 USD from her house. She had hosted Vahan Martirosyan, his wife and their child in her house for about a week.
Ms Sona Trusyan, the Advisor to the Chairman of Armenia’s Investigative Committee in the interview with Iravaban.net said that they had received the documents on the case on 28 August and initiated a criminal cas on the same day. Vahan Martirosyan was involved as a defendant.
“On 31 August the Police was given an instruction to undertake operative intelligence activities to ensure hindering Vahan Martirosyan and his wife leaving the territory of Armenia,” Sona Truzyan said.
After a number of notifications Vahan Martirosyan did not come to the police department. On 9 September an official retrieval was announced. “We have received notification from the police that his location is unknown.”
