A criminal case was filed in the Yerevan City Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee on the case of running over a pedestrian.
At around 10:20 PM on 13 September 2015, on 20 Roubinyants Street of Yerevan City A. Edoyan’s “Lexus” run over pedestrian Khoren Mkrtchyan which resulted in the victim’s death caused by physical injuries.
On 13 September 2015 a criminal suit was filed in the Yerevan City Investigation Department of the RA Investigation Committee, according to the 2nd part of the 242nd article of the RA Criminal Code (breaking the rules of road traffic and exploitation of means of transport which resulted in a person’s death by negligence).
Necessary investigative and court actions are being carried out in order to provide objective and multi-faceted investigation of all the circumstances of the case. A number of people have been questioned, including the Lexus driver.
A task was assigned to the Kanaker-Zeytun Department of Police adjacent to the RA Government to discover eyewitnesses as well as find out whether or not there were any video cameras on the scene and present the video recordings to the body that administers the proceedings.
A request was sent to the RA Road Police in order to receive the video recordings made by the video cameras located in the intersection of Roubinyants and Sevak Streets.
Forensic expertises of the corpse have been scheduled, including forensic medical, comprehensive forensic traceological and forensic chemical expertises, as well as fiber analysis and forensic auto-technical expertises.
Additional information regarding the court decisions based on the results of the investigation will be provided, says the IC.
