Today, some forces appeared in Baghramyan Avenue have the objective to create instability in the country and among the citizens and not the aim to protest against the increase of electricity tariffs. Their utmost aspirations are vague and shortsighted political approaches and not the social and economic component of solving the issue.
Such conclusion may be made because a day earlier President Serzh Sargsyan introduced in details not only the present situation in the energy area and reasoning of the increase of tariffs, but also declared that the decision of raising the tariffs will also be a subject of international audit, and until then the Government will take the burden of the price hike.
We expressed our readiness to involved in this whole process, experts and civil society representatives. In such situation the decision of the protestors to keep blocked Baghramyan Avenue illegally is unclear, especially when the initiating group of the action announced that the action will be continued in the Liberty Square.
“No to Plunder!” initiative members receiving the positive solution of all their demands, showed high legal consciousness values issuing from the interest of the public and state.
Their decision confirms the optimistic argument that a really good generation is growing up in our country.Young people who feel responsibility for their actions.
Reaffirming the commitment of the government to solving the problem through dialogue and joint work, I once and again urge our citizens who continue the protest action in Baghramyan Avenue, to refrain from unconstitutional actions and aggravating the situation.
At the same time I consider inadmissible any provocations against the Police. They are serving to our state and our people and are deserving the greatest respect.
