Today, the RA Government adopted the “Draft Concept on Fight Against Corruption in Public System.”
This document is of great public importance, as it is the instrument, which ensures the continuity of the RA Government’s anti-corruption policy in the sphere of fight against corruption for the next five years. However, the concept was approved without insuring public discussion and public participation.
The Armenian Young Lawyers Association and Freedom of Information Center consider unacceptable the adoption of such a crucial document without public discussions and ignoring the opinion of civil society. The organizations consider that such course of action does not proceed from the principles of publicity, transparency and public participation in the state governance.
The Armenian Young Lawyers Association and Freedom of Information Center, which currently jointly implement “Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion” project with financial support of the European Union, will introduce the mentioned Concept to the discussion of the civil society in the nearest future.
