On December 9, a local of “Aygek” village reported to the Central Department of the Fight against Organized Crime of the Police that H. Avetisyan, head of the territorial agency of Vagharshapat’s social service, has demanded a bribe equal to a month pay of welfare benefit, to include her in the “Paros” social program, and threatened to revoke her from the project in case of failing to comply.
As a result of operative search measures undertaken by the Central Department of the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption and Aragatsotn Provincial Department of the Police and its Aparan division, H. Avetisyan was arrested at the moment of accepting the bribe on the same day.
Investigation is underway.
